She is a special wax doll with a story between us.
I first saw her for sale about 2 years ago, but the listing disappeared.
Then, about a month ago, she reappeared.
I saw it on Ebay by chance. Of course I bid, the ad was with a long waiting period of more than a week. I constantly checked to make sure others didn't “steal”from me.
So, i was lucky.
Then She arrived one day.
She is in perfect condition under the dirt—but her dress was in terrible shape, like fragile crepe paper and damaged further during shipping.
Originally, I planned to fully remove the dress. But when I looked closer, I noticed signs that matched my confirmed original Lilli Baitz made dolls: the kind of the taffeta, the paper underneath the fabric they all looked the same as they used in the Baitz atelier.
Because of this, I decided to preserve as much as possible.
Using furniture restoration techniques, I saved the bodice by reinforcing it. Now looks like canvas.. but its better like nothing..
The skirt couldn’t be saved. It was like ash. Probably because of the heat that was constantly hitting, since she was a lampshade doll.
I replaced it with antique lace from the same period. I didn't throw away her original dress, I used it as filler. So, the original dress is there, it's just... transformed.
Amy now returns to her original role as a lamp shade doll—but fitted with LED for avoid heat. She is now my emotional support doll at night... because I am afraid of the dark.
In her hand, she holds a tiny fan, a classic detail often seen in Baitz atelier pieces.
I cannot 100% confirm the doll’s origin but the signs strongly suggest she is full an authentic Baitz creation and not customer made dressed.
Amy is not for sale but I hope you enjoy the pictures.
Before…
Now with her friends
(The other dolls are full dressed by Lilli Baitz, except Coco’s wig, this is my work but I own her original wig as well)
Amy’s final place in my sewing table.
Believe me, she lights up. ;)
It's just hard to photograph that way.

So I believe even the dress is different now Lilli wouldn't say I ruined her work.
Amy seems perfectly happy.

And dont forget. Never ever remove antique dolls dress if its in a good condition. Try to preserve. If there is no other chance redress carefully, and never use any glue.
