Inspiring women: the Schreiber Sisters

As feminists in our private lives, we are inspired not only by the fashion line but also by politics. Therefore, we would like to commemorate these two great women in a few worlds. We collect dolls of one of them.

Lilli Baitz (Elisabeth Margaretha Schreiber  23. September 1874 Praunfalk, Austria- 14 August 1942)

A pioneering doll maker of the early 20th century, revolutionized the toy industry with her innovative designs and forward-thinking approach. Together with her husband Roman Baitz, she built an internationally successful company.

She was born in Austria, began crafting dolls at a young age, drawing inspiration from her surroundings and experiences.

Her wax dolls, known for their lifelike features and attention to detail, quickly gained popularity among collectors and enthusiasts worldwide. Baitz's commitment to quality and creativity set her apart in a male-dominated industry, earning her recognition as one of the leading doll makers of her time.

Baitz's feminism was evident in her entrepreneurial spirit and determination to succeed in a field traditionally dominated by men. Through her work, she challenged societal norms and expectations, paving the way for future generations of female artisans and entrepreneurs.

Lilli’s sister Adele Georgina Schreiber-Krieger (29 April 1872 – 18 February 1957) was an Austrian-German politician, writer and feminist.
